Shifting Perceptions expands the work I was doing under Creative Tarot. Sometimes single readings are not enough, and we need ongoing spiritual and creative support. A paradigm shift is happening globally, where more people are realizing that we must shift the way we perceive ourselves and the world if we are to survive. I believe if we align ourselves fully to our true calling, to the essence of who we really are, all else follows. We dramatically improve our relationship to ourselves, to others and to every aspect of the planet.
Through ongoing one-on-one coaching, as well as group workshops, Shifting Perceptions explores personal and spiritual growth, and alignment with one's life path. This is not just an indvidual journey, but a collective one, and our aim is toward the greatest and highest good for all.
I have undergone my own transformation from journalist to artist. As healer and coach, I continue my own path of alignment as I help others explore theirs.
My transition to artist began when I was a journalist at London's Financial Times. My journalism career had taken me from newspaper journalist in Tokyo, to travel writer through Asia, to London dailies.
A friend had just returned from Nepal and was meeting me in the FT lobby. I stood surrounded by televisions with graphs showing global market fluctuations as she walked in wearing a hand-made Nepalese jacket.
I'd known from when I was a child that I had a calling. I didn't know exactly what that calling was, but I'd felt spirit strongly all my life. When I looked at the stitches on my friend's jacket, something shifted. A spirit, a divine love glowed from each criss-crossed thread. Overnight I went through a major upheaval. I no longer wanted to do journalism, to regurgitate world trauma.
It took three years to understand what was happening. I was giving up my old life for a new life of art and spirit. It was a painful process to realize this new life. I use this hard-earned wisdom to help others make similar transitions.

Writing Workshop: Write Out Loud, Sunday, Sep. 25, 2011 in Seattle
Stories are meant to be shared, exposed, aired. Writing is a solitary pursuit, and sometimes we'll go months and years without sharing our work. How can we take our writing to the next level if we keep it private, share it with only a couple of people, if we dont open up to an audience? What greater blessing than to come out of the poetic closet, to expose our literary selves, to sense how our words land with others, to profoundly share our truth.
In Write Out Loud, well read our writing out loud, discuss and nurture the soul of the work, and get down to the basics of dialogue, structure, description and characterization. Participants will bring 5 to 10 pages of fiction, memoir, short story, screenplay or essay to the class. You will email me the writing beforehand, and I will provide photocopies for each person.
